Live Ebola Map

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 31 May 2026

Live Ebola Map ("we", "us") is a volunteer-run, community-moderated map that tracks reports of Ebola cases. This policy explains what information we collect, why, and your choices. It is written to be plain and honest; it is not legal advice.

1. Information we collect

2. Why we use it (legal bases)

3. Cookies

The core map and site do not require advertising or analytics cookies. The only non-essential cookie comes from the embedded comments (Remark42), and only once you sign in to comment. EU/UK visitors are shown a cookie banner and the comments are not loaded until you accept. You can change your choice at any time via the "Cookie settings" link in the footer.

4. Sharing

We do not sell your data. Data is processed by the service providers named above (Cloudflare, Airtable) solely to operate the site; the comment system is self-hosted on our own server. Approved submission content is, by design, published publicly on the map.

5. Retention

Submissions (approved or not) and their metadata are retained while the project is active. You may ask us to delete a submission or your email address at any time.

6. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data, or to object to or restrict its processing. To exercise any right — or to ask us to remove a submission or comment — contact us at privacy@liveebolamap.com.

7. Children

This site is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect their data.

8. Changes

We may update this policy; the "last updated" date above will change accordingly.
